Gimme that Gospel Yang

Whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.
—Philippians 1:7

Dear Lord,

I don’t mind defending the Gospel. I’m actually pretty good at it. But what I’d really like is to do a bit more confirming of it.

Do you think you could help me out?

Sincerely yours,

  1. Hello Fred,

    Look in the mirror.

What do you see? The self-absorbed guy you used to be or the God-fearing man you are today.

Manna… the snow this week reminded me of what manna from the hand of God must have been like…

Ever seen a lamb born in the driving wind, freezing snow, then grabbed it up, ran to the house, dried it off in a box behind the wood stove? Went back to the barn, where dad has milked that new mama sheep, rushed back, warmed the bottle and fed the helpless baby lamb? Watched in wonderment as it immediately gained strength, then stood up on its own as it’s little tail wriggled in delight at the consumption of its’ mama’s warm milk?

Then years later picked up a Bible and discovered The Creator of all things, somehow became a man, was murdered on a cross, came back to life on the third day, hundreds saw Him – jeepers creepers! – then that same All Mighty God, aka the Great I AM, says “here is my Son, the Lamb of God, my Lamb who I sacrificed instead of you so you could be with me”.

Hmmm. Helpless, frail, wobbly, hungry baby lamb warming behind the wood stove; The Maker of planets, mountains, stars and oceans and of that tiny lamb telling us we are to come to Him just like that feeble, vulnerable little lamb.

Can’t explain it, have seen it with my own eyes. All the proof I need.
